QUALIFICATION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Mr. Young has 25 years of experience in working with multiple earthwork, geosynthetic, and piping contractors. 

  • Mr. Young has acted as Construction Quality Assurance Manager/Technician for over 54 solid and hazardous waste landfill construction projects at 30 different landfill facilities in 9 states

  • Projects included landfill baseliner, landfill closure construction, landfill gas management systems, leachate recirculation fields and storage tanks, sedimentation and erosion control applications

  • His responsibilities have included communication with State Agencies, review and implementation of State and Federal Regulations

  • As a geosynthetics QC/Field Superintendent, Mr. Young installed millions of square feet of geomembrane, geosynthetic clay liner, geocomposite, and geotextiles

  • He has assisted the Certifying Engineer in completing over 30 different Construction Certification Reports.  His responsibilities included reviewing as-built construction drawings, geotechnical and geosynthetic installation data, and photo documentation of construction procedures

CQA field services for the 2018 LFG system installation.

Greenridge Reclamation, Pennsylvania

CQA Technician for 2009 gas expansion, cell construction, and cap construction, and CQA Manager for the 2010 Gas expansion and the 2013 Phase II LFG System Upgrades. Lead CQA for the construction of a composite landfill cell, 2 phases of landfill closure, and landfill gas management components.  Prepared draft narratives and reviewed record drawings for construction certification.

Carbon Limestone Sanitary landfill, Ohio

CQA Manager for 2010 Gas Expansion and the 2013 LFG.  LFG CQA field services 2015 & 2016.

Epperson Landfill, Kentucky

CQA Manager for 2016 Gas expansion and Closure Construction and the 2017 LFG expansion.

Midland Municipal Landfill, Michigan

Lead CQA for the construction of a 6-acre composite landfill cell. Prepared draft narratives and reviewed record drawings for certification.

Wayne County Disposal, Michigan

Lead CQA for the construction of a 22-acre landfill closure, including HDPE lined storm water diversion berms. Prepared draft narratives and reviewed record drawings for certification.

Green Valley Landfill, Kentucky

CQA services for the 2012 Cell construction and LFG construction in 2012, 2015, & 2017 spring and summer phases.

Sycamore Landfill, West Virginia

CQA services during the installation of the 2013 landfill gas system expansion.  Services included observation of conveyance piping system air pressure testing and documentation of construction materials and procedures, and Lead CQA for the construction of 2 composite landfill cells. Prepared narratives and reviewed record drawings.

Tulleytown Resource Reclamation Facility, Pennsylvania

CQA and Construction Management services for the construction of several concurrent projects throughout 2005 including: an 11-acre composite cell, landfill gas management system components, and 2 phases of the leachate recirculation field.  Monitoring and sampling of a 17-acre geomembrane slope failure which included the removal and reclamation of 3 layers of geosynthetics and final cover soils.

Lorain County, Ohio

CQA and Construction Management services for the construction of a 20-acre landfill closure and associated LFG collection system.  Prepared draft narratives and reviewed record drawings for construction certification

Mountain View Reclamation, Pennsylvania

Lead CQA for the construction of 2 composite landfill cells, 1 phase of landfill closure, landfill gas management components, and a Tensar engineered reinforced wall.  Prepared draft narratives and reviewed record drawings for construction certification

Brooke County Landfill, West Virginia

CQA services for the construction of a composite disposal area liner system.  Multiple layers of geomembrane (60mil & 80mil), GCL product, drainage layer, and cushion geotextile were installed.

Cold Water Landfill, Michigan

Provided geomembrane welding services for a damaged cell liner system.

AEP Flint Creek Landfill, Arkansas

Lead CQA for the construction of a 13-acre intermediate liner system, 15-acre final cover system, and clay with geosynthetics leachate and contact water holding impoundment.

Apex Landfill, Las Vegas

Lead CQA for the 2019 Landfill gas expansion including 41 new wells and conveyance piping. Also 37 abandonments of existing wells, including Blackhawk pumps.

Benson Valley Landfill, Kentucky

Lead CQA for the 2020 Landfill gas expansion including 19 wells, 10 abandonments, and the installation of gas and leachate conveyance piping.

Pioneer Crossing Landfill, Pennsylvania

Lead CQA for the 2020 construction of a 9-acre cell including compacted subbase, double layered synthetics, and leachate collection piping.

White Pines Landfill, Pennsylvania

Lead CQA for the 2021 construction of a 5.7-acre cell including compacted subbase and double layered synthetics.

Conestoga Landfill, Pennsylvania

Lead CQA for the 2021 Landfill gas expansion including 19 new wells, 21 abandonments, and various sizes of conveyance piping. Also lead CQA for the 2021 4.8-acre cell and the 2022 7.7-acre cell including compacted subbase and a double layered synthetics system.
